In 1492, a traveler from space comes
crashing down outside the town of Ensisheim.
King Maximilian I declares the event a good omen
for his war campaign. Poet and propagandist
Sebastian Brandt produces illustrated leaflets
depicting the impact of the meteorite and spreads
them throughout Europe. Albrecht Dürer is painting
the crash in a hidden place. These individuals
are living in a world shifting nervously in space.
Germany is divided and the Ochsenkopf
mountain serves as the main West German transmitter.
The regions unable to receive the western
broadcast are dubbed “valley of the clueless”.
Three East German born youths grow up to form
the core trio of the Neo-Nazi terror cell NSU.
The cell gets uncovered in 2011 and their “confessional”
video featuring the Pink Panther starts
circulating soon after.
Two of the three core members die in a gas explosion
inside a camper van. The van is being
towed up a ramp onto a truck, all things inside
shift backwards, there is no forensic evidence
left to dissect. The supporting network of the
cell remains largely intact, the demands of the
murder victims’ families remain largely unheard.
Visuals are turning, meteorites and panthers
are made to speak, and words want to shape images.
